I think something like 20k people have been called up in the IRR over the last 10 years. Totally population of IRR is pretty big so I don't think that's a huge proportion.
It still happens. And any given soldier SHOULD expect the possibility. That's why they're not supposed to get out of regulation while on IRR.

But yeah. No fancy bonuses either. 'We don't promise you a rose garden' and all that.

I think you need to do a 6-2 split to qualify for GI benefits, though. I would expect that's military-wide.

Hmmmmmm.............. It seems to me that the previous President attempted to facilitate anti-HIV drug production by third world countries but was shot down by Pres. Bush's party. The drugs could have saved millions of lives and reduced the spread of HIV.

You guys need a crash course on media literacy, to know the difference between propaganda and facts; and learn critical thinking skills while you're at it. We are not fighting wars for freedom; we're fighting wars so that defense contract companies can make profit.

MrFun, I have a pretty full course load right now but knowing facts is important to me, so I decided to see if my college offered a media literacy course. But it looks like it doesn't. Can you give me the cliff notes? So far I've got that facts come from hand-written signs posted to Facebook... we invaded Afghanistan for the oil profits... critical thinking skills involve changing your political beliefs after finding out the military is hard... anything else?

We went to war because it was popular. Afterwards, it became unpopular because it didn't go as well as people hoped. They rationally updated their beliefs about the war once they saw the results.

That is definitely a side benefit

Blackwater can't outsource so double benefit.
