  • There are goddamn mountains here

I haven't seen a mountain in six years. Holy ****.

    Meanwhile, back in Columbus...

    What are mountains?

    Meanwhile, back in Philly...

Almost the same thing. Yesterday, an explosion in a building, though, set off a huge fire that shut down the rail service.

I still think you should have gone in winter but Jackson Hole is no doubt cooler in climate compared to the midwest or east coast this time of year.

I'm at a conference, so I didn't really have a choice re: time of year.

The Tetons (tits, breasts) are reletively young mountains, around 9 million years old. The crust sort of broke along their eastern face, and they are tilting up along the fault and the Jackson Hole valley is tilting down, but sediments are tending to level the valley floor. They are very dramatic looking on their east face becasue they rise directly from the fault at their base, with no foothills.

                So GUy is in Wyoming

I have meant to get down to Yellowstone sometime. Our cottage is so close to the US border that I thinkl I can be in any of Washington, Idaho or Montana in two hours driving. Mrs Flubber wants to hit Seattle.

Oh and yesterday I was in Dallas., Was only there for 24 hours but after my meetings I visited the 6th Floor Museum at the Texas Book Depository--

Oh and Mountains ( rises and looks out window) Yup-- there they are

NO -- like riding a horse-- I have done it about a half dozen times and many rural folks do it far more often. When they ride they are not attacked by Indians or engaging in a shootout with a badguy so its not like most horeback riding movies I have seen

I'm kidding. We have horses in Philly. A few months back, I saw someone galloping down Broad Street.

Today I saw a gigantic mother****ing bull moose, a trio of big ass bison just cold chillin' next to the road, a quartet of pronghorn, a massive ****ing herd of elk, and a beaver family, including a beaver baby, which just about is the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Where the **** does Wyoming keep its fat people?
