  • Natural selection and political orientation

    Assuming that

    (1) Political leanings rest on inheritable psychological traits
    (2) Law and order function from traits that have been shown to be tied to conservative beliefs
    (3) Political repression has always been a major cause of death

Do you think it possible that humanity would be determined to be less and less progressive with time?

Where exactly do "progressive" genes do? If they make people more open to new experiences, for example, I can see how natural selection might favor them.

I say it's more determined by economics than any of the things you mentioned.

        Didn't God do it?
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

I think it's a paradox. I don't see the problem with saying that things are determined by economics and that God did it, or that we have free will as well.
