It's kind of a bad time to be launching a luxury car but things are looking promising for Tesla with pre-orders already covering the entire first year of production. The price is $57,000 and the range is 264 miles on a single charge. The owners of Tesla are currently flying high on the success of one of their other ventures, SpaceX, which recently launched the first private spacecraft into orbit (well spacecraft capable of carrying people and supplies).
