For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Presuming that she's the only person who sees or saw nothing wrong with her habit. It's also a red herring.
So what?
The point is to make certain drugs legal to cut down on the harm and crime that go along with blanket prohibition.(\__/)

I didn't make the presumption that she was the only self delusional junkie. I'm assuming that the husband felt the same way before playing such a large part in his wife's death and depriving his children of both a mother and father. I'm merely pointing out that they were the only what one might call pro-junkies listed in the article and that's all I was saying.Originally posted by notyoueither View PostPresuming that she's the only person who sees or saw nothing wrong with her habit. Only some of the harm of heroin comes from the toxicity of street crap. The drug is itself very dangerous. Oxycodone and vicodin abusers are getting it from pharmacies and they still manage to **** themselves up. The idea of harm reduction sounds nice but it's retarded because then you'll just have more victims. Making killing yourself slowly more attractive by making it a little bit slower is not a winning policy.

Why shouldn't we enact a policy that would lessen the risk to drug addicts? People assume risk every day by performing countless activities and the government generally tries to make those activities safer if it can.Originally posted by DinoDoc View PostDoesn't this qualify as an assumption of risk on their part?I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am.

Your moralistic tone on this issue is really reprehensible. Drug addicts don't deserve to die just because you think their personal behavior is morally wrong.Originally posted by DinoDoc View PostDrugs that eat the user sounds like a self-correcting problem.I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am.

Deserve or not deserve doesn't enter into the equation. Drugs that eat the user is a self correcting problem. Either the junkies will switch to another drug or there will be less junkies. Either way the problem solves itself.Originally posted by Captain ******* Kirk View PostYour moralistic tone on this issue is really reprehensible.
