Giving the Jews East Prussia in 1948 would have...

1) Punished Germany
2) Given Jews an area with a large pre-war Jewish population
3) Given Jews a developed area only slightly smaller than modern-day Israel (plus no desert)

Would have made perfect sense if not for the Soviets.

The Jews wanted Israel. Why blame the Soviets? I don't see any convincing evidence that they would have refused to create a (Communist) homeland for Jews there.

An apartment housing 10 Eritreans has been firebombed in Jerusalem, against the backdrop of rising anti-migrant sentiment in Israel.

Four of the occupants were taken to hospital suffering burns and smoke inhalation. Graffiti sprayed on the walls of the building said: "Get out of the neighbourhood."

In real history you gave eastern prussia to poland,
which resulted in almost all of its german inhabitants getting driven out under cruel conditions (and eastern prussia, including Danzig being lost for germany).
Wouldn´t have made a difference for germany if you had given it to the jews instead (although maybe more of its former german inhabitants would have gotten killed instead of just getting driven out of eastern prussia)

There have been some protests against illegal immigrants in Israel which have turned violent. It seems that when ever the economy goes down people like to find scape goats for all their problems. That said, yes, Israel has a right to control who enters their country but it needs to be done through the legal system and not via mob violence.

Yeah, the BBC reports that ~60,000 Sudanese and Eritrean illegal immigrants have come to Israel for economic reasons. The riots are pretty shameful but there was bound to be some sort of backlash. The key thing is to work everything out via the judicial system rather than just let extremists run a muck in the streets.

Technically, it is a violation of international law to deport Sudanese and Eritreans. They are protected from deportation due to the situation in their home countries.
