I don't understand why a spacefaring race needs a wormhole thingy to get to Earth... yeah, obviously when Loki or Thor travel without a ship they need a bifrost or wormhole or something. And why haven't the Asgardians built ships, if replacing bifrost is too difficult?(\__/) Save a bunny, eat more Smurf!

Finally saw the dang thing on DVD, so I'll shamelessly necro the thread. It was great fun, and I like how they totally embraced the "comic book movie" aspect at last. No more attempts to justify things with awkward explanations or hangdog nods to realism. It used to be, when the Hulk beat the crap out of someone, he broke most of the bones in his body. None of that here; Loki gets treated like Bam-Bam's club and he's right back up, dispensing endless ham as before, with no apparent injury. Because it's just more fun when people can keep beating each other up forever, as in a cartoon. Speaking of Loki, it was also nice that they never asked us to take him--or anything else--at all seriously. Flying invisible aircraft carrier? Eh, why not.
And Iron Man is now basically Spider-Man with lasers.

The Avengers was terrible. The Hulk movies all sucked. Captain America was bad. Thor was sub-meh.
The first Iron Man was a decent flick. Though, I think RDJr was better in Sherlock Holmes.
Every Spiderman movie has sucked hardcore balls. Even the idiotic remake.
Heath Ledger was awesome in the 2nd Batman. Every scene he wasn't in was terrible. The last half of that movie was a chore to watch.
The rest of the Batmans sucked. Bane was a joke. He sounded like what I imagine Santa Claus would sound like. The plots from the 1st and 3rd were horrible. The acting was worse. Christian Bale is worse than Val Kilmer Batman... perhaps better than Clooney. Michael Keaton is still the best... from the first one. But none of them were particularly great.
Heath Ledger played one of the best villains in any movie. To us, it is the BEAST.

and accepts that drink offer finally.
"Have a care how you speak! Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard and he is my brother!
He killed eighty people in two days.
He's adopted. "
it was great.
"Enough! You are, all of you are beneath me! I am a god, you dull creature, and I will not be bullied by... "
best scene in a superhero movie to date (starting with that arrow shot). Loki has a lot of Daffy Duck in him. Classic.Last edited by OneFootInTheGrave; January 7, 2013, 06:51.Socrates: "Good is That at which all things aim, If one knows what the good is, one will always do what is good."
