I used to think that Americans deserved to be saved from the power and influence of huge corporations and their complete contempt for life, health and human happiness. Threads (and elections) like this make me think many of you deserve exactly what you get.

According to this page, Barret had $3,938,626 in donations and Walker had $30,492,466 in donations, but the average donation was $89 and $125, respectively.

So Barret had 44,250 donors and Walker had 243,900 donors, roughly speaking.

Lots and lots of tiny corporations, I guess.

Four of the 5 hold-outs had double-digit victories, while Lehman had barely over 1% margin in his win (arguably rounded incorrectly to say 51%, but they didn't want to write 50.5% to 49.5%), 779 votes out of 70,731. I don't think a recount will make a difference, unless somebody in cheeseland knows something that hasn't been reported yet... any voting irregularities? New Black Panthers at polling stations to intimidate the old honkeys?

Which is why when they pour toxic chemicals into rivers, put incredibly unhealthy additives into food, illegally forclose houses on people, trash industry to make short term profits and rip away peoples right to collectively bargain employment contracts so they can force unfair working pay and practices on people they feel absolutely nothing.

Shame for the people left homeless, the people who lose their jobs and can't find others, people left without healthcare or the people who get cancer because of the pollution, but hey **** it that's what they keep voting for.

I made two donations to Governor Walker. One for $100, and one for $17.76.
