I've also been to Rochester and no, it's definitely not Siberia...More like the Canada of the US.

I'm not sure how Rochester is more like Canada than anywhere else in the sense that I'm not sure how Canada is substantively different from America culturally. Regional variations in both countries appear to me to be stronger than the overall difference between the two.

Wait are you actually in Rochester right now?

no, but I'm there during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and at least one or two random weekends during the year. I used to go there for nearly a month at a time when I was the pianist for Vacation Bible School at St. Johns of Rochester.
