Bottom line is that the people making this test have an agenda, and that's only one of the reasons the test really sucks.
Only when people like you an Al sit and decide you know better than the people who created it what the questions mean and are intended to convey. We've been using this test for about 5+ years at about yearly intervals, and despite moans about particular questions, it does actually seem to chart quite well peoples changing political stances over time.
Plus it must be true as it accurately portrays Reg and you as nazis and Al as deeply disturbed.

I challenge kentonio to post answers for a test that could reasonably be Obama's answers and arrive at the chart position that the test-makers posit for Obama. How would you or I know what Obama's answers to that test would be? If you ignore the rhetoric and just look purely at his actions since becoming president I'd have him down as a social moderate right winger, with authoritarian tendancies. For what it's worth, I think that test doesn't really reflect his social positions adequately, but he's certainly a centre right politician.

Incidentally HC was the one who threw in the Gingrich/Mugabe strawman, I only said that the extreme edges of the grid should be dictator levels of dickishness to represent an accurate spread, I actually said that Obama/Romney being near those extremes was ridiculous, and didn't even mention Gingrich, who is an obnoxious, sad little man, but certainly not the new reincarnation of satan.
Re Mugabe though, despite him being an obnoxious, repulsive little bastard, in history terms he wouldn't even come close to most of the Kings, Emperors, Khans and other leaders with dictatorial power who have ruled the worlds countries, not to mention he probably wouldn't even make the top 20 for the last century alone. Hell I'd be surprised if he even made it into Africas top 10 for the twentieth century.

Center right as in the center of the right authoritarian quadrant or the center of the entire graph? If it's the latter, what the hell are you arguing about? You agree that Obama/Romney don't belong in the high authoritarian area and that the test doesn't support their placement there.
