              I've never understood liberals' obsession with the "Southern strategy." Yes, the GOP cynically took advantage of the fears of racist Southerners following the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964, but it never actually supported slavery or Jim Crow like the Democratic Party did to maintain the "Solid South." The Republican Party clearly has the better record on racial issues, no matter how much people like MrFun try to revise history.

                    Yes, the Democratic party today, is just as racist and white supremacist as it was in the nineteenth century. That is why the vast majority of blacks today, are Republican voters.
                    A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.
