If you went through an SAT guide as an adult with work ethic, instead of a kid, you'd get 800s across the board. Sure, the essay is a bit of a crapshoot - it was where my writing score got dinged - but the rest of the writing section is actually the most predictable. The majority of the questions are about parallel structures, subject-verb agreement, or noun-pronoun agreement. On occasion there will be questions about idiomatic preposition usage - "depends on," "consists of," "enamored of," that sort of thing. There are also maybe a couple of other categories I haven't thought of right now.

I got a 2250, didn't study, took the test once. One of the easiest tests I took in all of high school. They didn't test me on anything I didn't already know by 8th grade.If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

2260 (790M/740V/730W). Didn't really do any prep except a practice test or two (and the experience of having taken it in 7th grade as well, sans the writing part of course). It was good enough to get me in to where I wanted to be, so I didn't bother to retake -- there was no way I was going to waste another five hours of drudgery just to improve slightly.Comment
