  • Which language is this and what does it say?

    Muto maine shalini ko 12 baje wish nhi kiya
    Google Translate is of no use.

    Hint: Likely a dialect from India...

        The speaker is praising the size of your manhood and lamenting his relative deficiency.

          Looked up some of the words, I think reg is right. Also, Asher, Malayalam is a language with 50 million speakers, it's not exactly a "dialect"

              Malayalam is a Tamil language...it has nothing to do with Malaysia...

                  It looks like Visayan. Shalini is the only word I don't recognize... a name?

                  muto = mound
                  maine = this
                  shalini = Shalini?
                  ko = me
                  12 = banana
                  baje = girl
                  wish = banana
                  nhi = National Historic Institute (or something)
                  kiya = sway/rock

                  Im not sure what it means... I could ask tomorrow for a real translation except I'm sure it would get me in trouble...

                      A Welsh journalist was just freed from abduction in Libya and reckons the reason he was taken in the first place was because the militia confused the Welsh language on his supplies for Hebrew, and decided he was an Israeli spy.

                      Libyans "confused Welsh for Hebrew" claims arrested Welsh journalist Gareth Montgomery-Johnson

                          Malayalam was a guess based on googling.

                            It's from a woman, FWIW.

                            She replied to an email from one of our user experience people (also a woman) with that. I assume she meant to send it to someone else...

                              Based on the "ko" and the use of an English word (wish) with an indigenous verb ending, I'd say Tagalog. If not Tagalog, then one of the Bahasas (Bahasa Indonesia or Bahasa Melayu), which are linguistically related to Tagalog.

                              EDIT: One of the other languages of the Philippines -- Cebuano or Ilocano -- are also a possibility; maybe moreso than Tagalog, in fact, because English is more widespread among Tagalog speakers than Ilocano or Cebuano speakes.
