is awesome. Especially when you're being paid for it.

An adult female is $75.00 An adult male is $50.00

Do they pay more for females because it does more to control the population, or because people want to shoot males anyway because they're better trophies, or both, or neither, or some other combination of the preceding options?

I would say it's pretty much entirely the first.

This is not unusual, BTW. Not anymore. They are becoming a big problem everywhere.

They do, in some locations. The problem is that geese still fall in the "cute animal" column for most cityfolk. Feral hogs don't have that advantage.

The traffic noise must have made them hard of hearing

The fact remains that most people regard a flock of geese crossing the road as a reason to stop, and not as an opportunity for mass brantacide.

Admittedly I'll slow down to around 15mph while driving through a flock of geese, largely because I'm worried that the goose corpses might muck up my tires

One of my employees was fined $1000 for "accidentally" running over a goose with his punt.

Two months later, the lake association hired some hunters to take care of the goose problem.

What if the animals hunt you?
