Doesn't surprise me. He was up against a long-time incumbent who was much less insane.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I don't think anyone should actually miss him. He's loony.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

                1. Not taking bribes doesn't set him apart.
                2. Neither does standing up for normal people.
                3. "Doesn't bow to corporate interests" translates to "Allowed Cleveland to go bankrupt because of downright incorrect personal convictions."

He did take a bribe from Obama though, when he got a free flight on Air Force One in return for a "yea" vote on PPACA.

That's why we're going to miss him! Another boring Congressman
