It's rare to find anyone whose biological parents are married! All of you are out of touch with America.

Why do you think Santorum is going on and on about families? It's because that type of family is dead in America.

How the **** did I misspell biological? Is there a way to fix that?

It could be fixed ................................................ but it won't be. We want your gaffe to live on.

My parents stayed together, and I'm still married to the mother of my children.

My parents are, so were my grandparents ('til death did they part).

It may be generational though. Recently the Daily Mail had a crisis of what to report when they ran an article that marriages were on the way up after decades of decline - a possible reason was increased immigration, not a return to family values of the indigenous population.

Resurgence of marriage: After an official report showed married couples are happiest, weddings are on the increase

In 2009, number of weddings was lowest since Victorian age
But boom in 2010 saw 8,657 more walking down the aisle
Before that the popularity of marriage had been on the wane since 1972
Two out of three civil ceremonies are now held in stately homes

          [...]

The rise might also be attributable to immigration. Around 600,000 migrants come to live in Britain each year and have a high regard for marriage.

If you catch it within the time limit and hit "go advanced", you can edit the thread title.

If you hit "go advanced" after that, changing the title will not effect how it looks on the main board.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Historical: My parents were together 42 years; they divorced long after their kids were grown and gone.

Contemporary: My wife and I remain together; our daughter is 24.

My parents divorced four years ago, by that time three of us four siblings had finished high school.

So it's official. Alpert once again is unable to understand that everyone else's life is not exactly like his.

For some reason I read that as "I'm still married to all the mothers of my children". It's late and I'm tired.

If Al is so sure that relationships are doomed to fail why is he so intent on finding a FEMALE?

My parents are still together; four out of seven of their married siblings are still married to their original partners (the three who divorced are all remarried; none of them divorced more than once)

Not a scientific study. Apolyton posters are a privileged demographic. That's well established and I've been saying it since I was 14.

Go make a poll about how many people here have college degrees.

As for the question, my mother is a 2-time divorcee.
