Actor Daniel Von Bargen has been hospitalized in Ohio after shooting himself in the head.


The 61 year old, who played Mr. Kruger on hit TV sitcom "Seinfeld," attempted suicide on Monday, but had a change of heart about ending his life when he survived the gunshot wound.

In a 911 call, obtained by TMZ, the diabetic actor explained he was set to have his toes amputated as a result of his health condition and he put a gun to his temple because he didn't want to go through with the operation.

He told the operator, "I've shot myself in the head ... and I need help. I was supposed to go to the hospital and I didn't want to. They (doctors) were supposed to amputate at least a few toes."

Paramedics responded to Von Bargen's cry for help and transported him from his Cincinnati apartment to a nearby hospital.


The actor has also appeared in films such as "Basic Instinct," "Super Troopers," "Broken Arrow" and "Philadelphia."

I read the article, dumbass. I still say that attempting suicide, at all, is moronic; much less attempting suicide over some toes. I know that a brainiac like yourself might not understand such a lowly thought process, but there it is.

I started typing a reply including examples and then decided against it.

But there are ways that will ensure you die and without pain or suffering.

I know you are implying that ending your own life is always stupid, but not necessarily the case in some cases of advanced suffering I'd say.

Shooting yourself through the mouth is usually more effective as you have a better chance of hitting the brain stem causing instant death. Though I'd imagine that trying to shoot yourself in the back of the head would have the same result, but reaching the right angle might be difficult.
