Wonders never cease. Even the US media has started to pick up the story of the Dutch outrage over Republican lies. Normally the US media ignores everything over seas.

yeah its not like the american public will care if they are beeing lied to.

By and large liberals are snotty know it alls and tend to want positions based on facts; they gleefully love to show off their knowledge by correcting even their own side. To compare the Republican base loves lies as long as they're comforting lies which reinforce what they already think. Is this always the case? No, but it's usually the case and that's why you don't have the Democratic equivalent of the Republican lies about supposed death panels, Obama being a secret muslim terrorist sleeper agent, Obama being a supposed illegal alien, supposedly "strangling domestic energy production" (fact oil production is at a record high and there are four times as many drilling rigs in the country today as when Obama took office), that "government spending has never created a single job", that the Dutch government does mass killings of old people, or that white people are the real victims of racial discrimination.

Lying, even obvious lies, is just completely embedded with the modern American right wing's self identity.
