Is that about this?
On January 31, 2012, the Susan G. Komen organization cut its funding to Planned Parenthood, citing as its reason new rules governing the foundation that bar the support of organizations under congressional investigation, in this case an inquiry by Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.)[49] (Planned Parenthood is regularly audited to ensure compliance with the Hyde Amendment: these audits have never turned up any evidence of wrongdoing.)[50] According to Jeffrey Goldberg, multiple persons with inside knowledge of the decision-making process have told him that this rule was adopted only to create an excuse to cut off Planned Parenthood from the Komen Foundation.[51] The move drew sharp criticism from women's health advocacy groups, which said that the Susan G. Komen organization was putting politics ahead of women's health.[52][53] On February 1, 2012, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) both criticized and revoked their support for Komen in speeches in Congress.[54]
Critics point out that Komen's new rules were created after the hiring of its new senior vice president for public policy Karen Handel, who stated during her unsuccessful 2010 Georgia gubernatorial campaign that "I do not support the mission of Planned Parenthood" and who pledged to eliminate funding for breast and cervical cancer screenings provided by Planned Parenthood.[55][56] Komen founder Nancy Brinker is a longtime GOP donor with strong Republican ties and served as ambassador to Hungary under George W. Bush, and the decision came shortly after Komen unveiled a new partnership with the policy-making arm of George W. Bush’s presidential library.[57] Following the decision, Komen's director of community health programs resigned in protest over the grant cutoff.[58]
Komen's decision was applauded by conservative religious and anti-abortion groups.[59] Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) said it was "a welcome, long-overdue decision that will make Komen more effective in the fight against breast cancer."[60] Several newspaper editorials denounced Komen's decision, and Planned Parenthood said that it received more than $400,000 from 6,000 donors in the 24 hours after the news broke.[59]
On February 2, 2012, twenty-six U.S. Senators signed a toughly worded letter urging Komen to reverse its decision,[61] while the American Association of University Women said it would end all collaboration with Komen.[62] On the same day Planned Parenthood said it received a pledge of a $250,000 matching grant from New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg[63] and a pledge of a $250,000 gift from a foundation run by the CEO of Bonanza Oil Co. in Dallas to help make up for the loss of funding.[64]
On February 3, 2012 the Susan G. Komen Board of Directors issued a statement to "apologize to the American public for recent decisions" and said Komen "will continue to fund existing grants, including those of Planned Parenthood, and preserve their eligibility to apply for future grants." Komen said it will amend criteria to "make clear that disqualifying investigations must be criminal and conclusive in nature and not political".[65]
Sorry, I think that funding or not funding planned parenthood is political. Those who withdraw support are definitely being political.
I guess I understand that the woman above went through a lot, it is terrible.
She is still being political.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

The whole "scandal" was an idiotic PR bungle by SGK, who will now likely face declining revenues from both left- and right-wing donors. Sounds good to me; all that "buy pink crap to show what a hero you are" business always was a trifle nauseating.

You're aware that a person can donate to cancer research without buying a pink For The Cure t-shirt/cooking utensil/dildo/whatever, right? No ribbons, no walk-a-thons, just giving the damned money and not trumpeting it to the hills?

Wearing that stuff increases awareness of breast cancer. That's why I wear my "Wriststrong" bracelet to raise awareness of wrist injuries.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect.
