When you find yourself arguing with an idiot, you might want to rethink who the idiot really is.

There is a unique identifying serial number on the charging unit for the tablet. If you suspect that it might be stolen you could call the local police station and give them that serial number. User "vlbaindoor" at the tech forum "transformer forum" says the serial number can be found as follows (link below) :
[q]The serial number would be on the Tablet - near the charging port at the bottom.
It is a number printed in black on a transparent sticker.

It would look something like S/N:B60KASxxxx

On the keyboard dock it would be on the bottom edge close to the touch pad again it would be printed in black on transparent sticker.

Unless you have removed all stickers from all over the tablet, you should still have them. Apart from this, the number is also printed on the box that your Tablet came in - but you might have disposed of the card board box soon after you got the device. [/q[

Also it may be registered to a different user if that user registered it online via the asus website.

I got this information by googling "asus serial number tablet" and clicked on this tech forum thread entitled 'where is serial number?':

Another possible method of checking may be to register, or attempt to register, the tablet online. If it's registered to someone else that will be an obvious indicator. But that might bring anti-theft notifications into play (I don't know if they exist but they might--I'm just speculating) so I'd call the police station about it before doing it.

Keep in mind this information could be wrong as it refers to a "transformer."

Long story short look for a serial number.
