  • Hail Internet Grammar Nazis

I need a favour. Where do I put the apostrophe in the following sentences:

"There are considerable management problems relating to Jacks behaviour"

"If Jacks skin is not washed"

"the use of emulsifiers such as soap to clean Jacks’ skin could be causing dryness"

    "Jacks care"

"However whilst all previous care plans regarding coffee were considered unmanageable by the multidisciplinary team responsible for Jacks care"

"conflict resolution skills that have been used to manage Jacks’ behaviours"

    "I am redirecting Jacks attention"

"so only influence Jacks immediate nutritional intake if he is hypoglycemic"

"catheterisation would also compromise Jacks independence and privacy"

"Jacks’ continence may deteriorate in future"

Slag me off as much as you want, but the person who does this correctly can choose my sig for the next week.

You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Look I've just completely rewritten a 2.5K essay in 24 hours. Give me a sodding break.

They should all be Jack's, unless we're talking about the toys.

My bad, I had thought you said spelling Nazis.

Aeson is correct. Assuming all are references to a person named Jack (and only one of him), the apostrophe should be after the 'k' in every case.

              Jack's behaviour
              Jack's care
              etc.

Thanks guys, that was the last thing I needed to check and my brain just stopped working an hour ago.

Aeson, what you want me to change the sig to?

                    Yes. It's not that hard.

How many seconds did it take to change it though?

3 minutes because of the forum change. I've had that sig for close to 5 years now.

Surely it would take less than a second to read that sentence. In fact I'd go so far as to say that it wouldn't waste any time at all as you'd scan it semi subconsciously as you were scrolling down the page...

Writing this has of course wasted me more than the aforementioned 6-7 seconds, so much so that I actually wish I'd timed myself!
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

At a guess I think it took me less than seven seconds to read both your post AND Krill's signature. I also wasted more than seven seconds typing my thoroughly pointless post.

I also wish that I had actually timed myself.
