I'm teaching an Introduction to Social Science class (high school level).
I need my students to read something. I'd rather it not be boring pages from a manual.
Any suggestion of a first-hand anthropological account that is actually interesting or fun to read? A chapter where an anthropologist makes a wondrous discovery, or suffers danger?
Ideally the interesting excerpt would have to be short. Anything above twenty pages is wishful thinking.
(I am also open to other social sciences, should you have any suggestion).
