    Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel were super-duper East Coast intellectual/privileged, so maybe Simon got it out of his system by the mid-1980s. Or his embrace of world music was a natural extension of his elitism. I can see the similarities, but Graceland always seemed like an old person's record to me, while VW sounds fresh. Simon and Garfunkel's early material still sounds good to me, maybe VW is more like an early incarnation of Simon.
