  • Philosophical question about evolution

Did the Klingons evolve those ridged foreheads since they liked to bang their heads against eachother in interstellar pubs throughout the universe over generations, or did they get ridged foreheads because of sudden mutations or something, and then - after realizing the power and durability of ridged foreheads - started to bang their heads against eachother in interstellar pubs throughout the universe for social or other non-genetic reasons???

I'd put my money on your second theory

The ridgid foreheads are selected for reproduction. Also, how is this philosophical?

        Good question. Almost philosophical.

sci-fi latex make-up was expensive, they could only afford it decades later. afterwards they made up some story about a passing virus.

Dude Klingons are not real. It always pisses me off when people think aliens woudl look like humans but maybe only have different colors or bones.

Yes, a television show from the 1960s really should have tried to do more than just put some humans in costumes and call them aliens.

I'm glad you agree with me, gribbler. I mean if you look at the literary science fiction from that time there were plenty of weird aliens out there but Star Trek which is all revolutionary had fake looking aliens.

Haha you are probably joking. I mean of course they are not realy but sometimes people think that's what aliens would look like. I mean look at all the stories of abductions. It is always little green men or whatever and I just think that's silly. There aren't many, but it's the abduction stories where the alien is a glowing bob of light or all tentacles that I think are more real.

Sometimes the aliens will take on a humanoid appearance to put the abducted at ease.

That actually is one of the theories but it doesn't make sense to me. Any time someone comes back from an abduction they are scarred forever and talk about how horrible it was. So how much good was it doing the aliens to take human appearance if that is the result?

How much worse would it be if they had a terrifying appearance? At least the abducted are still able to function.

Haha many times they are not able to function. But it is no joking matter. Sometimes people need therapy the rest of their life, and sometimes people commit suicide because of the memories they have. Other times people come back with strange marks on their skin or symptoms of radiation sickness. It can really be debilitating.
