I feel kinda bad because Virginia gets so much more in federal dollars than it pays in taxes, but in fairness, none of it is actually direct transfers or aid, it's just federal facilities like military bases and department offices and stuff. There's only so many places you can build the largest naval shipyard in the world, for instance...
On the other hand, AFAICT, Quebec actually gets direct aid for bull**** projects...:wtf:
