  • Never even tried. I've been on vacation. I just hate people who don't cite.

    • So what was the lack of citation saying at "volume"?

"I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it." - Mark Twain

      • Wow, I don't think Republicans would openly admit to and defend being liars.

Usually when people make incendiary claims without citation, what would you think it's saying about the claims?

          • I don't post all my sources because some of them are in French and I don't have the time to look for an English story.

You may not agree with all I say, but I try as much as possible to be honest with facts.

Thank you. That was the inference I thought you were making.

Now that you have been informed, where is your outrage? I think the (now sourced) allegation is much more serious than a missing cite.

The current incarnation of our Conservative Party truly is a sight to behold.

I'm in my mid-forties and consider myself a (reasonable) libertarian. In the Cdn context this has led me to support conservative parties more often than not for most of my life. I even voted for Harper during his 1st run for PM.

After seeing this rabble in action over the last few years I can honestly say I will never vote for the party again. If this is what modern Conservatives consider to be good government, I want no part of it. The last campaign I voted NDP (socialists) for the 1st time in my life to help ensure a Conservative didn't come up the middle in our 1st past the post system and steal my riding.

I am no more or less outraged by this than any other childish politician stunt. This is why I don't follow politics.

                  • I generally try to ignore things that stink as well but sometimes the stench becomes too much.

Bull****, look at how vehemently anti-liberal you have been on these boards. You tolerate Harper because he's good for Alberta.

                        I'm not anti-Liberal, I'm anti-"screw Alberta".

The Liberals have historically campaigned on a "screw Alberta" campaign. That's the extent of my caring.

The fact is that the Tories are the only party who even tries to win seats in Alberta. Most elections the Liberal PM candidate doesn't make a single stop during the campaign in the entire province. As a result, you have parties like the Liberals and NDP that actively advocate policies that are blatantly detrimental to the province. You have to be pretty ****ing stupid to vote for any other party in Alberta, as a result. Regardless of whichever talking head leads the party.

                        • You're overstating it. The Chrétien era sure wasn't that bad for Alberta.

Yes. Let's talk about the Liberal leader, 4 leaders ago. I like arbitrarily picking people and times.

                            My turn: National Energy Policy

Oh oh, and the Green Shift!

                            As for Chretien:
"I like to do politics with people from the East. Joe Clark and Stockwell Day are from Alberta. They are a different type."

Yeah, Alberta...lets vote for that guy!

Paul Martin though, check him out:
                            "Alberta can blow me."
-Scott Reid, press secretary for Prime Minister Paul Martin, the official spokesperson for Paul Martin and the Liberal Party

                            They don't even try.

We let them slog through most of the building of another pipeline through the Rockies, then offer to extend our pipeline into Canada a year or so before they finish theirs. That would get the US the same long-term benefit as the Keystone XL, several years of discount Canadian oil, and teach the Canucks not to issue threats from a weak position.
                                LOL

Of course they will build a pipeline with excess capacity (sufficient to accomodate "Canadian oil") and leave that unfilled? Oh ya and the canadian regulators and such would see a pipe finished in year LOL
