Surprised that no one has mentioned the Nine Heads of Ming thread. Classic.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Fatally aMusing. There's Norn so bold as those who Gracefully make Classical allusions. Otherwise it'd be Dryad dust around here, bereft of mythic inspiration.Originally posted by Uncle Sparky View PostMy favourite was the thread Clotho started, Lachesis added a measure to and Athropos finished.
Either that , or an Apolyton, the Movie thread from the late '90s.Vive la liberte. Noor Inayat Khan, Dachau.

I was taking a shot an Oncle Boris' sense of what is memorable. I remember the thread but I don't remember what was so memorable about it. I think Oncle Boris' idea of its greatness has more to do with his eternal beef with KH.Originally posted by Bugs ****ing Bunny View PostThe fact that you couldn't work out what it was without asking suggests you wouldn't have been high on the list."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

What was memorable was everyone eagerly lining up for KH to take a free shot at them.

My two favourite ones of my own were the Pearl Necklace thread or the one where I suggested that instead of building expensive robots we should genetically engineer higher apes to act as our slaves (but on second thoughts, probably easier to genetically engineer stupid compliant humans).
I can't find either of them by searching.Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth

Ahh, yes. As I remember the mods kept deleting the subsequent threads where people who weren't present at the time tried to figure out who the nine heads were. As I recall I was the one who ferreted out the correct answer by digging up threads which hadn't been deleted and MtG was nice enough to let that one thread continue for a day (mostly because he was tired of locking and deleting threads on the subject) until we had gotten to the bottom of the matter. We need to bring MtG back because he was great in his prime before his ex-wife crushed him.Originally posted by -Jrabbit View PostSurprised that no one has mentioned the Nine Heads of Ming thread. That might be the craziest thing you've ever said.
I remember the April Fool where they pretended he was going to be a moderator.

Who did that thread "Apolyton in 1900" or something like that? They basically took a screen shot of the OTF then changed all of the thread titles to reflect similar situations in late victorian language.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.
