  • Fridge temperature control

I have a quart of milk here that smells like it's gone bad but it's a week until it expires. On the dial that controls the temperature in a fridge, does a lower number mean a lower temperature or does it mean a higher temperature? It's not immediately obvious. Does it depend on the model of the fridge?

    Thanks.

Turn it until the engine starts.

Well, on the fridges that I have used regularly*, bigger number = colder. It seems a bit counter-intuitive at first, but I guess it's indicating how much the pump is working.

      * A small sample size, to be sure.

Away from his parents for 3 months and he's already spoiling milk

I really hope he doesn't cry over it, unless it spills of course...

Larger number = colder on every fridge/freezer I've used

Give him a couple years and he'll be wondering if the canned tomato paste is still edible
