  • Rich people fleeing the country!

The country of China that is. One in eight millionaires in China are currently actively seeking to immigrate with most of them seeking trying to go to either the US or Canada. I say let them all in but tell them they have to bring their money with them and actually invest in the US.

Nearly half of China's wealthiest citizens are considering emigrating, with the United States and Canada the most popular destinations, according to a new report from the authors of China's rich list.

The survey by the Bank of China and the Hurun Report, which publishes luxury magazines and runs a research institute, found that 46 percent of Chinese with assets worth more than 10 million yuan ($1.6 million) were considering moving abroad.

Another 14 percent had already begun the process, it said. Many said they were seeking a better education for their children and cited concerns about the security of their assets in China.

I guess they haven't heard that Obama is a socialist-communist-fascist who is seeking to destroy America and wants to eat the rich.

You can buy your way into US citizenship, its roughly $500,000 USD. Its called "investment immigration". The lands of Canadia have such a program too, it costs 225,000 Canadian dollars. Canadian citizenship is worth only half as much as American citizenship.

If they're bringing large sums of cash to invest them I'm ok with selling them citizenship.

I thought that New Zealand required over a million dollars (US).

So New Zealand citizenship must be worth twice as much as US?

            Who wants to go there?
You can price something as high as you want, but people have to want to go there.

It just goes to show how important the rule of law & property rights are for the long term development of a country. China still has weak rule of law and even weaker property rights.

I believe that was codified in the original constitution. Where as slaves were considered 2/3 a person for representation purposes, Canadians were considered 1/2. FACT!
