  • Rudy Giuliani Blames Americans for 9/11

They attacked us because we're free, they hate our freedoms... Thats a variation of what Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell concluded, but they were much more specific about which Americans were the ultimate cause - Unplanned Parenthood and abortion, porn and divorce, ACLU, gays, liberals, atheists, etc. At the same time, Rudy was "stunned" when Ron Paul identified US foreign policy as their motive for attacking us, even accusing Paul of saying "we" Americans brought it on ourselves. But thats what Rudy has always said, that we did bring it on ourselves - with our sinful freedoms - whereas Paul didn't mention the American people, just policies like leaving armies in Saudi Arabia to impose sanctions on Iraqis instead of leaving after the first Gulf War.

Is Rudy a Weasel or is he America's Mayor?

I wonder how the NYFD would vote on that...

I'm confused. How does saying they hate us for our freedom mean we're blaming America for being attacked?
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

If they hate us for existing there is nothing we can do but fight, but if they hate us because we've been over there screwing around pissing people off, then there is something we can do about it - LEAVE! But they have oil... The fact this lying scumbag (Rudy cant be that stupid) would stand there and demand a retraction of the truth and repeat that Bu**** lie disqualifies him from office...
His previous thread on the subject. Why he would bring it up again now is odd since Rudy isn't running.

According to Rudy (and Pat and Jerry) our "freedoms" inspired the attack on 9/11, not policy. So what freedoms? Freedoms generally supported by liberals, not God-fearing gun toting conservatives who attend church and practice "family values". Paul blamed US policy and these guys blamed "sinful" Americans.

and another enlightening contribution from DD

This thread is little better than necro'ing your original thread, Berz. Arrian already gave the proper response years ago. I don't even care about Rudy this time. It's just the pointless necro on the exact same topic that irritates me.

Rudy's argument hasn't changed and many in the GOP still make it today, now go get irritated somewhere else

btw DD, I dont think I ever started a thread about Rudy blaming Americans for 9/11 - I dont even remember starting any threads about Pat and Jerry, maybe you're confusing past debates in which I linked our adventures overseas in the Middle East to 9/11...

                            what was Arrian's response?
