"Arrested Development" creator Mitch Hurwitz announced today that the show will be coming back to television -- five years after it was cancelled.

Hurwitz said the show will do a "limited" season which will show us what the characters have been up to since the show last aired ... which will then lead right into the planned movie.

There is no official deal in place yet for where or when the show will air.

Have a frozen banana and celebrate!

It is, unfortunately, destined to be not nearly as good as expectations. But still likely better than 90% of TV.

It gets better and better and better as it goes on. I remember having a "meh" response to the pilot initially as well.

It had some good bits but I didn't think it was as great as most of the critics. It wasn't consistently good.

Another one I'm having problems with is 30 rock. It started in syndication this fall so I've watched it a for a few weeks and can't understand all the praise that it got. It's not that funny. Except for Tina, the rest of the cast is annoying at best. Every now and then the writers come up with some funny stuff but it's really inconsistent.

Different strokes for different folks. I'm also not a big fan of the office. My wife agrees with me about all three.

I gave up on 30 Rock during its first season. Big fan of Fey and the self-mocking version of Baldwin, but it was a sitcom the failed the "be funny" test.

I'm willing to accept the possibility that my advanced age may have something to do with this. I used to watch a lot of half-hour sitcoms, but none of the current crop is really must-see in my world.
