  • Help Lori feed his girlfriend.

The girlfriend has entrusted me with supplying dinner tonight. I don't necessarily have to make it, but I do have to furnish it by some means - whether by picking something up from the store, getting food delivered, or making something myself.

The problem is, I am absolutely terrible at figuring out what to eat. All food tastes nearly the same to me, and the only craving I ever have is for Mountain Dew.

So, Apolyton, what should I do?

Remember, btw, that along with my inability to taste food, I am also virtually incapable of making it.

      Yep, depends on the budget.
If money is no issue, a lot of the mid-range restaurants offer pickup.

I have no idea where you live, except "DC area." This place comes to mind, I've been craving searing-hot chunga kebab...http://www.ff-kh.com/

It's far from expensive, but I haven't a clue where you live.

EDIT: looking at the menu, it seems they've discontinued the chunga. Oh well, bihari is good too (if you don't like heat, the lamb is mild). And the nan is incredible.

Buy two pieces of beef steak, rub some salt and pepper onto it, bake the outsides quickly for a minute at most, so that the inside remains tender.

Add baked potatoes (if you´re a lazy American, you can get away with not peeling them, and call it ´culture´), add salt.

Add BBQ sauce or ketchup, and perhaps some veggies.

              Done

Some Spanish red wine on the side would be good. Find something ´purple´ to go with the meat.

one of my favorite easy things to make is a rigatoni casserole.

                  2 1lb boxes of rigatoni
2lbs of meat (I use 1lbs of sausage and 1lbs of ground beef)
2 1lb jars of favorite sauce (I use Prego Herb and Garlic)
2 1lb packages of grated cheese (I use motz and cheddar)
                  1lb of grated parmesean cheese

                  cook the rigatoni
                  brown the meat
combine the noodles, meat, parmesean cheese, and sauce in a 3in x 9in x 3in lasanga pan
                  cover with the grated cheese
cook at 350°F until the grated cheese is golden brown

                  feeds 8 people

Cheap is the operative word here. As far as where I live - Silver Spring, MD.

                      I understand that Lori:

                      1. does not know how to cook
                      2. wishes to keep his GF, and keep her happy

Bearing these two facts in mind, good, cheap restaurants are probably the better option

Xpost--College Park is a bit of a shlep from Silver Spring--I don't know that region at all well, sorry. Well, I know an awesome ice cream place in NE DC, but that doesn't help you...

I Googled best cheap eats in Silver Springs, MD and the almighty Google recommended Hai Duong Vietnamese Restaurant and The Amsterdam Falafel Shop. Personally, I'd go Vietnamese as it's always good, it's a bit exotic or at least a change of pace, and it fits your requirement of being inexpensive.
