Anyone have experience with these?

I want diesel instead of gasoline because I don't want to depend on a fuel that can "go stale".

I'd like to pick up a good one, but I don't know what a good one is.

Much larger than a gasoline one is a good start.

Is fuel that much of a problem? You can always just use it to fill your car up and get some more every month or so.

A properly sealed gas tank not exposed to the elements will get you the most duration.

If your engine is electrically started, then you'll want to run it every couple of months anyways to be sure the battery is fully charged.

Diesel is denser I think, and certainly a lot less volatile. If you have the money I'd go diesel for an emergency generator.

figure out what you need it for and then get one big enough to handle the load

Apparently Vons, Albertson's, and some older Shell stations have back up generators because they had all their lights on and their registers working while all the other stores had no power.
