The pikies look to be losing the plot.

That's bull****. If the guy went to the trouble of building a castle he should get to keep it (pun intended).

I am surprised that there is no 'squatter's rights' laws.

I can't remember the name or text of said laws, but here if you assume control of the property (or section of it) and continue to make improvements or perform the upkeep, after a while, quite a while, the propery becomes yours. Assuming you can prove that you did all upkeep/improvements and the real owner did nothing to stop you.
I have more issues than Marvel Comics and more problems than a math text book.

They aren't squatters, they own the land. "Squatter rights" do exist, they are just irrelevant in this instance.

So you think that disregarding the law and deliberately hiding your illegal activity should be accepted? Great precedent..... although I may accept it if there were a punitive fine to make a copycatting not worthwhile.

If the pikies owned the land why are they being evicted?

Land use regulation/zoning. The plan for part of the space they were using was "greenbelt". The improvments theron were not allowed and hard not be permitted. I imaginge there also be a lot of building safety code violation in the improvements that had skipped the permitting process.
