He wasn't; the spike in the deficit that appears between 2008 and 2009 on the **** chart is 2009 deficit (as you can see from the chart I linked to).

Dude, it's not my fault that you aren't smart enough to recognize blatant partisan hackery when you see it.

That chart is almost as retarded as you are. Obviously the crash which occurred in Bush's final year was much worse then anyone thought.

The beauty of that chart is that it was a totally unnecessary own goal on the part of the Obama Administration. Why would anyone publicly tout such a rosy prediction and risk massive blowback in the very likely event that your prediction is revealed to be absurd by events?

Fine - I guess I should have thought it through more before providing the source on spending and deficit.

I for one am shocked that the administration led by someone without an iota of executive experience but relying on the sage advice from mensa perennial Biden would commit such obvious faux pas.

Sadly, that guy's bias hurts his credibility.

The US Senate, of which Mr. Obama was a voting member, passed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, with Obama voting for it. President Bush then signed the bill into law. Both are responsible.

You clearly have no idea what the ARRA is. It would be nice if those of you who don't know what the **** you're talking about would stay out of these discussions.
