  • Do English people really talk that way??

So I've been reading the comic, The Boys, and I'm really liking it.

This one character, Butcher/Billy, is an English man. When he speaks, he often uses the word "me" in place of "my."

Do English people really talk that way?

    Yes. All of them.

        It's very common, yes.

        Now, where's me dinner?

Typical English person - only thinking of himself.

No, I haven't - I'd like to someday. As well as visit parts of Germany and Sweden.

I think they're two different characters, MrUnfun. And the guy that looks like Simon Pegg is Scottish.

FYI, we don't say "me" for "my". We have a full pronominal inflectional paradigm.

Germany and England are one country, albeit separated by a couple of internecine spats, not Germany and Sweden. Get it right, Funzie.
