    Ibuprofen (aka Advil) is bloody rough on your liver.

    Avoid it if you like your booze.

        i´m connecting a few dots now. i took bucketloads of nsaid´s (doctor´s orders) when i had a serious internal inflammation. ever since i can´t hold my liquor, as little as one glass makes me very sleep, three and i´m ill for a few days.

        how long does a liver need to regenerate? i quite like booze.

              Yuo = idoit.

              To dumb it down for u: paracetamol = bad for liver; paracetamol != nsaid. All obvious now? Well, you're apparently European so don't disappoint me, please...

                I don't get along with Ibuprofen at the best of times (it tends to make me feel like **** even while it takes away muscular aches) but I have noticed that it's a hell of a lot harder on my body when I'm drinking than when I'm not. Ibuprofen + alcohol = very sore liver + feeling like **** all over. Not my cup of tea at all.

                IIRC, the liver regenerates about every 90 days.

                If you're having problems with your medication....consult your doctor, not an internet message board.

                If your anti-depressants are getting in the way of your drinking, I'd suggest giving up the drinking for the moment. Once your head is working right you can always start drinking again.

                The main thing is getting your head working right. The booze can wait.

                  ALL WRONG (etc.)*

                  * And with that I think I've stated my point more than should be necessary. I'm not going to bleat on about this so just know that I'm right, ok?

                        You might have an allergy.
                        My mother was very allergic, and a good friend of mine (who drank quite a bit until she turned 40) discovered she had a severe allergy.
                        There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

                          you mean i developed an allergy? would be too bad...

                          thoth, i generally don't trust doctors. especially not these spanish ones, the public system is terrible. you make an appointment, if it's classified as urgent, you'll get one three weeks from now. when you get there some biatch secretary orders you around to wait another hour and a half until the doctor is free. when you get there, he doesn't bother to say hello, the secretary tells you to explain the symptoms, he'll punch on his computer for a few minutes, hit print, and you walk out the door with some creme or pill recipe.

                          the private ones are obviously better - in the sense that they'll actually talk with you. but i've had bad luck with those too. when i had to be operated for my inflammation, the doctor said, "well, it's only been two months that you haven't been able to use your arm... maybe it will heal naturally eventually. here, i'll prescribe you these bath salts, take a hot bath every day". two doctors later i found one who was willing to do something right away, rather than take the sit and wait approach.
