Monopoly Man Pit
Our Rating:
Incoming visitors to this production by local performance artists Ian Mozdzen and Doug Melnyk are given a a Monopoly game Chance card that promises: “It’s your lucky day.” If watching a naked, masked man spinning in circles screaming, banging things with a cane and drinking his own urine is your idea of luck, then you’ve won the lottery here.
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

Fringe festival? It's the biggest event of it's kind in the world and even CNN has an article on its front page! In fact, in the last 18 hours CNN has published not less then seven different articles on Comic-Con so love it or hate it it's a HUGE event for not just the nerds but also Hollywood so the media swarms to it.
Virtually all the museums and galleries worth going to in the UK are free - SUCK ON THAT!
Granted, you guys have the Smithsonian, but that's the other side of the ****ing country from San Diego - DOUBLE SUCK ON THAT!!!
Yeah, yeah... All true. We are not cultural barbarians though and instead our local museums actually get a lot of traveling exhibits because the "great" museums of the world might have excellent collections but often they're cash poor. Our municiple museums don't have much of a private collection but they do have excellent faculties which both tourists and locals love and they have a local audience of ~3 million people plus some 2.5 million tourists per year. That means they can charge $8 per person on most days and come up with several million dollars to pay for different guest collections to visit. That's how they got the Spanish collection I saw yesterday (complete with dozens of El Greco, Picasso, and Dali paintings); the owners need the cash and we can provide it so we get local showings. It doesn't hurt that we're next to L.A. because most of the displays go to LA first and then to San Diego after that since it's so close so we end up getting some pretty good exhibits.
Count me as one of the vast majority of people in this world that could not care less about comic-con or the sad folks who attend it.
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

“In a democracy, I realize you don’t need to talk to the top leader to know how the country feels. When I go to a dictatorship, I only have to talk to one person and that’s the dictator, because he speaks for all the people.” - Jimmy Carter
Oh, come on. It's an interesting event where you get to watch movie previews & screenings, look at the cosplay freaks, get a first look at new video games/books/comics/whatever, and the flea market is top notch with all sorts of strange and unusual stuff. I also like how most of the big fantasy & scifi authors are there so you can shake hands with them and ask them questions. It is a bit of a zoo though and the crowds do get old fast.
