I have a list, and it's pretty accurate, but it also doesn't matter. Out of principal I never click through ads. Does anyone here actually click ads?

By the way I have "Sports - Individual Sports - Racquet Sports" and "Autos & Vehicles - Vehicle Maintenance" and I have no idea were these come from.
Is someone using my computer to search for car maintenance and tennis without me knowing?

So you just get random ads?

Before my last reformat I bought a new stainless steel garbage disposal off of Amazon.com and for months afterwords Google showed me ads for garbage disposals. I didn't need one nor did I care to see ads about them so I made sure to block cookies and use adblocker when I reinstalled Windows 7.

This is what the link in the OP tells me:

No interest categories are associated with your ads preferences so far.
You can add interests such as Entertainment, Travel or Shopping.

How does Google add interests automatically?
