Heroin is Diamorphine. Basically morphine is the alkaloid found in opium purified, diamorphine is a drug synthesised from morphine.

You can have Diamorphine prescribed as a pain killer during childbirth here (which is why I know so much!)

Yes, that's right. Pure diamorphin/heroin, is so safe in itself they actually give it to pregnant women during childbirth.

Meth is an amphetamine, its just better than the speed/crank found on the street. But its no different in its effect, it keeps you awake and staves off hunger. The problem stems from the drug being so effective and using it day after day after day, symptoms of sleep deprivation and even severe malnutrition for long term IV addicts. But its great for driving night shifts when the coffee just wont do the job

I'd avoid all strong (synthetic) stimulants now, they aint good for the heart.

that reminds me, I just heard Chantix (smoking cessation drug) has been linked to increased heart risks, strokes, etc... I used that stuff for a month to quit a couple years ago, oh well... Actually the study was done on smokers with heart disease but it cant be good for healthy hearts either.

Yeah, but the major problems with heroin tend to be from cutting agents, malnutrition, associations with crime due to dependency, overdoses because the purity isn't well known, and mixing it with cocaine rather than from the heroin itself.

Why is of course why we should legalise it.
