The average user of krokodil, a dirty cousin of morphine that is spreading like a virus among Russian youth, does not live longer than two or three years, and the few who manage to quit usually come away disfigured.

Is this a Russian thing or a northern thing?

If there were no strict controls on alcohol, would Swedes and Finns be dying from it in the thousands?

Amazing how the fall of communism has left Russians... defenseless from the various temptations of

But people don't die from it. My driving instructor was shooting heroin for 10 years and managed to quit with no obvious repercussions. My acquaintance's father, a businessman, was also a heroin addict, but managed to switch to Christianity. It's not the drug that kills you, it's the environment. If you can afford uncut smack, clean needles and syringes, you won't necessarily die. If you buy it from gypsies, share hypos with other junkies and rob people to buy more, you're screwed. And if you have to resort to brewing cough syrup to get your fix...

heroin and meth aint bad, both have their purposes... You might as well argue cars and guns are bad because of drive by shootings

so we made the pot illegal and the world got flooded with cocaine and heroin because they're so much easier to hide
