The meaningful stat is whether the rate is increasing or decreasing. Speaking for Dallas, Texas, since the advent of concealed carry licenses it's dropped.

Could that be due to the fact that, having legalised concealed carry, fewer people are facing criminal charges for concealed carry? The genesis of the "evil Finn" concept- Evil, evil Finland

[QUOTE=Docfeelgood;5983951I'm in total shock! Here at Poly this is never heard of out of Britain. I was under the impression only Americans killed each other with guns.
I am curious to the excuse; lack of education or unemployment?[/QUOTE]
Of course, every major city has this kind of problem...not just in the US...London is certainly no exception. But also have a sense of perspective about the scale of these problems in London compared to the US too. The kind of shooting described would make national news - it isn't a regular occurrence, and the nights of London aren't ringing with gunshots. Compare London and Washington for murder rates per capita...it's quite an interesting comparison.Speaking of Erith:

Sherlock Holmes & Watson always had pistols and so did the bad guys in Danger Mouse so obviously the UK has no gun laws.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Is that the best ya got...?
Maybe it's the strategic use of sheep tied to lamp-posts in Cardiff that keeps gun and knife crime down?
