There are so few of these historical WW2 planes left it is sad to see one destroyed. A WW2 B-17 Flying Fortress which had been fully restored and often flew at air shows (even offering tickets to passengers who wanted to experience flight as WW2 flight crews experienced it) had an on board fire and was forced to crash land in a corn field outside of Chicago.

Hmm, we had it on the local news. But I'm sure that's just because I live near Chicago.
It was a shame watching the footage of it burning away in the field.It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
