I have no respect for Dave Floyd though. He's a womanizing racist. As far as a human being goes, Dave Floyd might be the worst this site has to offer.

No. It logically follows that if you feel you are in the right (or any party under attack), anyone standing up for you (or the given party) is also in the right. Nothing inherently wrong with basing respect on such an action.
