If Obama only suggested investing in better high-speed rail for the northeast, the people on Fox News would just accuse him of favoring regions that vote for Democrats or something. Whatever he does, they whine about it.

We can also improve our air transportation infrastructure.

1. That's not actually true. They do praise him occasionally...they're not actually retarded like you wish they were.
2. The role of opposition is to oppose. Those shows are all talk shows. They have a conservative lean to them. If they didn't oppose the president, they wouldn't be opposition. THAT'S THE POINT.

Also, if people stop using plane routes as often, you don't have a massively expensive train track to maintain. You just fly the planes more or less to each area depending on supply and demand. Honestly, air travel makes so much more sense than train travel you might even think there's a logical reason for there being more passenger air travel than train travel in the US...
The Acela is already a bit faster than airplanes when you take into account time spent in security. It's not worth it to build another train track.

No, it is the point. If you are the opposition, it is your explicit job to oppose the president, right or wrong. The way it has ALWAYS worked is to almost always oppose whatever the administration is doing at the moment. If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

1) The NE Corridor that's already proposed; Boston - Washington DC
2) Minneapolis - Indianapolis going through Chicago
3) Austin - Dallas, or if there's more travel, then this shorter route; Austin - Houston
4) Los Angeles - San Francisco
5) I also thought about St. Louis - Columbus, connecting to the Minneapolis - Chicago in Indianapolis but not sure about that oneA lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

Extreme partisanship is based on opposing politicians of the other party, even when their proposals or policies are RIGHT.
The only job the opposition should have, is to serve as a watchdog/whistle blower, propose counter ideas/policies, and to oppose the other party's proposals or policies that are clearly WRONG.
With your idea of opposition even when the other is right, we can just kill any remnant of bi-partisanship and get even LESS done in government.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.
