Al B, settle down... The creation myth I'm talking about does appear in a book on ancient mythology and religion. Its called "Mythologies of the Ancient World" and it was compiled by Samuel Noah Kramer from ~10 authors in their respective fields of expertize, Kramer did the section on the Sumerians - and his contribution to the book does contain a creation of mankind myth describing the "binding" of the gods with a creature already in existence in the southern lands. This was done to create a primitive worker to take over the hard labor of the complaining gods. Now, the Zulu also have a creation of mankind story that describes their ancestors as "the artificial ones" created by the gods, and who went to war with the apemen.

What other creation myth? The Atrahasis and the Enuma Elish don't tell of this."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

according to one source in Wikipedia, although I still doubt its genuine, there's the statement that the Annunaki used the Igigi as servants before creating men.
Here's the source: Leick, Gwendolyn: A Dictionary of Ancient Near Eastern Mythology (NY: Routledge, 1998), p. 85"Life is the only RPG you'll ever play, The religious want to be one with the moderator, the scientists want to hack the game, and the gamers want to do both."

I presented the link to the translated text of the Atrahasis:
[1] When the gods were man
they did forced labor, they bore drudgery.
Great indeed was the drudgery of the gods,
the forced labor was heavy, the misery too much:
[5] the seven great Anunna-gods were burdening
the [lesser] Igigi-gods with forced labor."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

yes. According again to Wikipedia, so I doubt its actualness, the Igigi were a different form of gods, numbering between 10 and 300, according to the sources. I guess if you could say the Annunaki were like the pantheon gods of Olympus, the Igigi were like the demi-gods, or their version of angels I suppose."Life is the only RPG you'll ever play, The religious want to be one with the moderator, the scientists want to hack the game, and the gamers want to do both."

My point is all this other nonsense about ape-men and evolution and ancient astronauts doing genetic engineering which was characterized by the Sumerians a certain way is a fiction because you an read he Atrahasis right there. There's nothing indicating any such nonsense. Some lesser gods toiled, complained and rebelled, and a compromise was made where one of the Igigi would be sacrificed to create humans by mixing his blood with clay and then the clay being spit on by the Igigi. Sounds like a routine creation story where men are made from clay that is given a life-force by being ejaculated on, spat on, breathed on or whatever else by a god or gods.
How Sitchin pulls his theories out from that story is beyond my understanding; he pulled it out his ass."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

if you think Sitchin's bad, you should read stuff about David Icke, believes in the whole reptillian shape-shifting aliens controlling the world, which are the Annunaki in his books, also known as the Babylonian Brotherhood or Babylonian Bloodline."Life is the only RPG you'll ever play, The religious want to be one with the moderator, the scientists want to hack the game, and the gamers want to do both."

now that's interesting, because they say Greek and the Persian language come from the same root-language of Indo European. If you look at some of the mythologies there's a lot of similarities. Like for instance Pandora in ANcient Greek and Eve or Isha in Persian-Semitic mythology."Life is the only RPG you'll ever play, The religious want to be one with the moderator, the scientists want to hack the game, and the gamers want to do both."

I call bull**** on this apeman/prehuman business. The Atrahasis and the Enuma Elish say no such thing. What other Mesopotamian creation story is there?"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Just stuff like this:
http://brainmind.com/TwighlightOfGods.html (Twilight of the Gods... exactly )
In which the author of that site, a Rhawn Joseph, relates what Berzerker was talking about with experiments on creatures to create ape-men and then the creation of man by combined ape-men with the gods. He cites (Kramer 1991) quite a bit throughout the essay but not once when this guy talks about the ape-men experiments... at least the author of this site is not so brazen as to ascribe this nonsense to Kramer.
The website doesn't have a full bibliography. No book by Kramer was published in 1991 and perusing through Amazon.com, apparently none were republished that year (or at least, Amazon doesn't have them) since Amazon is still selling editions of Kramer's books from the 70's except for "Sumerian Mythology" which was re-published in 2007.
Anyway, I can't trust this guy who apparently has a respectable neuro-psychology career but who posts pictures like this on his site:
Oh and the guy does consultations!
