  • WFT is the current Greek prime minister spending his time on?

The global war on drugs has failed and legalisation would be a better option, according to a new report by group of politicians and former world leaders.

The Global Commission on Drug Policy report calls for the legalisation of some drugs and an end to the criminalisation of drug users.
    .
The 19-member commission includes Mexico's former President Ernesto Zedillo, Brazil's ex-President Fernando Henrique Cardoso and former Colombian President Cesar Gaviria, as well as the former US Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker and the current Prime Minister of Greece George Papandreou.
spends his time criticizing the US

The commission is especially critical of the US, saying it must abandon anti-crime approaches to drug policy and adopt strategies rooted in healthcare and human rights.

no wander Greece is not doing anything about it's debt when it's PM spends the time thinking how he can legalize his drug habit

In his position, I think I'd be on drugs too, and lots of them!

it's a good report and says the sort of things that reasonable people have been saying about drugs for years. a lot of it is stating the obvious but the obvious needs to be stated when governments all over the world refuse to accept it.

I agree and it is nice to see some current politicians supporting it as well, but having the Greek PM support it does not exactly do the report much good right now, as it would have at some other time

If they still have ties to the Macedons to could conquer Persia and steal all their gold, like under Alexander. Debt crisis solved.

Yeah. Why are they never thinking about the easiest solutions first? Could have avoided all the austerity measures and resulting social unrest easily

the issue is that the guy needs to come from Macedonia and conquer Greece first... but EU bureaucracy will never allow for this. Bureaucratic EU I think US needs to intervene.
