  • Sims 3 - How do you like it?

I'll probably get flogged, drowned, and quartered for this, but I'm making a thread about another game in here, because it seems like the Other Games forum gets too few visitors.

I read some reviews of Sims 3, and looked at what features are in the game.
I'm trying to decide whether to go ahead and buy the downloadable version of the game today.

So anyone on Apolyton who own or have played Sims 3 - how much do you like or hate the game? And why?
Does Sims 3 get the same fish aquarium feel like the previous two Sims games?

If it is the sort of thing you like, then you'll like it.

I know that is of no help, but it is also completely honest.

I've tried Sims 2 a long time ago but after only a short time trying it, I could not get into it. I'm wondering if Sims 3 has a stronger long-term fun factor.

I honestly couldn't play Sims 1 more than an hour without becoming nauseous.

MrFun would like the Sims, wouldn't he?

It reminds me of my unemployed, on welfare, with 3 kids each, neighbors who are huge Sims fans. Their Sims work, keep their house clean, etc. Their Sims live far better lives than they do.

In my opinion, no. There is nothing revolutionary, little things ironed out but if you didn't like Sims 2 you won't like Sims 3, it's more of the same stuff.

If you don't like Sims 2, then you wouldn't like Sims 3 either. Sims 3 is basically just Sims 2 with extra stuff and a more open world, but the gameplay is still exactly the same

My wife liked Sims 2 a lot more than Sims 3 because there was a steep regressions and some annoying new "features" in the game.

The Sims is like FarmVille, right? Where only women like it, right?

Yeah - because Sims 3 is more open world, I thought there would be a stronger fun factor. And it sounded like in Sims 3 you can create a person with a more "realistic" personality with more traits.
