boy,this sure was a dumb show.

The energy requirements to bring large amounts of material across hundreds of light years of space are so large that the ability to do so would mean these aliens are so far in advance of our capabilities, that we would be gone before we even knew anything was happening.

For those with imagination and curiosity, I'm sure many people enjoyed the show.

I don't know about that. I was looking forward to the Earth After Oil one, but then they went and tarded it up by assuming that all oil sources, everywhere, abruptly disappeared, and going from there. I also watched the Earth After Man one, which had all of humanity abruptly disappear (maybe pchang's aliens got them), and while I could work with that pure fantsy aspect, I found myself repeating "who cares, we're gone" after the first half hour. "Who cares if the Statue of Liberty's face falls off in 500 years? We're not there to care!"

The idea of depending on the human survivors for guerrilla warfare to fight the aliens is a bit too much.
Most of the populace of the world are not even armed!
