Hey Asher, the railings and the time of year got me wondering if you're a "decorate for the holidays" sort, and if so, if you included decorating ease into your house plans at all. My sister is a huge Christmas nut (tree in every room) - when she looks at the outside of a house, and in each room, she immediate sees how easy or hard it will be to decorate. Personally, I find it quite annoying when I have to add hooks or similar to something in order to decorate, and then have to decide if I'll just leave them there afterwards, possible being an eyesore.

I'm not a big decorating guy. There are outlets for Christmas lights built into the soffits, with a switch to control them hooked up in the closet. I hadn't given thought to anything else decoration-wise.

Aluminum siding houses suck, because they're ugly, just like aluminum railings suck because they are ugly. If you want wood railings to last then don't live in a climate which sucks.

Asher, why so few windows on the side of the house? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what did you drop on it?

Judging by how narrow the lot is the reason for so few windows on the side is because you'd be staring into the neighbor's bedroom.

Correction: Wood railings require maintenance but look damn good especially when properly carved.

I started out liking this house, but the more pictures of it I see the more it appears a depraved grudge-festering nauseating assault on the senses.

For some random ****ing reason, Apolyton randomizes the order of the photos. So I'm not bothering to caption them here. They're captioned on my FB/google+.

Week 15: Coat of tinted primer on the walls, temporary light fixtures in, kitchen pot lights in, random detailing in, garage landing complete. One of these photos is of the neighbour's house behind us under construction. The black stuff at the front of the house is meshing in preparation for exterior masonry.

What the hell? You're going to live in a desert? What is around this little suburban oasis? The landscape looks like a wasteland.

I don't think there's anything usual about land looking like that after it's been prepared to have a suburban neighborhood constructed on top of it. They need to get rid of the trees and stuff first.
